Thanks for the info Andrew, well appreciated

24th?  Shazboots - I'll be in London

The classes for August sound interesting!

Are they normal "mon" class times?
Um... what are the times again?   :)

Cheers

Marty classes will be at 7:45

Here's Graeme's text to get you interested

Have you never shagged? Have you ever wondered what it's like to Shag? Have you wanted to ask someone if they Shag? Then your luck's in - tonight's the night. A chance to learn the Shag so that you can make use of all these fantastic jokes and more. A whole evening of Shag!"

The Shag is an exciting and cool looking 6-count swing dance. A lot of fun with its kicks and hops, it is mainly danced in a closed hold but with separate & open elements. The shag is best used with medium to fast music.

The Balboa is an 8 count swing dance that evolved concurrently with Lindy and is ideal for faster music. It was popular with the college kids and saddle shoe set of the 1930s and is currently enjoying a big revival hear. Perfect to mix with your other dancing to make things easier when the pace really hots up
  Marty take note!!!  :D

cool!... looking forward to it!   :)

NB:
how come the Shag isn't done 2 wks on the trot, then the Balboa for 2 wks afterwards?

I would have thought from a learning perspective - repetition, and building on the new stuf is the best way to learn...

I struggle to understand why anybody would want to alternate balboa and shag classes?
Having done Balboa and shag. I consider myself  a  competent  balboa dancer  ( I have to say the basics are very useful to learn and can be fitted into many dance styles).
Shagging on the other hand is much bouncier and energetic most men are happy with one to three shags a night!!!
 ;) ;) ;) ;) 8) 8) 8) 8) :flame: :flame:

When you take dance lessons you learn steps and moves,  then one day you realise you can dance it is so different.
