What do you think of... the new Band Aid song?

This song (OK, not a leroc song, I know) just doesn't do anything for me.  Can't stand it myself.  Don't know how it got to number 1!

I have to admit - I know bono sang the same line in both the original and the new version - but where as you couldn't miss it in the original - where as it in the new version?? ???  Not that I should base a review on one line of a song I know - but the whole thing is a non-event - none of the passion the first one had!  Rather just give my money to charity than buy it!

Couldn't agree more.  So are you going to vote on it and give it your verdict? :)

Ah, it was just a handy way to introduce you to the concept of "polls".

You can only vote once per vote though, the database tracks your vote!  So even though I can't tell who's voted for what, I still know that each person only has one say on the issue.

A nice little featurette of this forum that I've desperately been wanting to add for errrrr ever since it started!

Not impressed I'm afraid - I liked the original for it's authenticity.........

However, it has been brought out to aid a good cause - the flagging fortunes of 'b' list singers..........  ;)

Hiya All,

Mixed feelings about the track....

I can see they tried to do something different with it - rather than "different faces, but same song"....  It had a more "back to basics" african sound to it - especially the end freestlye bit...

I don't think anything will top the original though... That one woke a lot of people up.  (I've been donating to OXFAM ever since etc.) - I suppose thats the way to look at the new track.

It was brill that the Millionaire said he would match the total sale proceeds with a one off donation.  Well done mate....

Any fundraising for the 3rd world is worth while, and not a watse of time.

Right... enough sentimentality.....

Have a great Xmas all!   O0
