Lyndsey has run through the routine with me!   :2funny:   ;D

The class is purposefully pitched at being fun - everyone will have a scream I reckon  :)

NB:
On a serious note tho - I'm very impressed with her "professionalism."  She is taking teaching seriously.   O0

Stuff the edge of the stage, watch the edge of Lyndsey's tongue if you get it wrong! :)

And don't worry if you make a mistake...

EVERYBODY'S WATCHING!!!  >:D

Seriously though, good luck with it all.

Will you be posting your routines in the Class Routines and Reviews board?  There's a CeRoc section there for you.  Just remember: as teachers you get to post the details of your class (routines, music, approaches, whatever), but leave the reviews to the students themselves!  >:D :)

Thanks for your support John.

Technically speaking it is not my class, I am just keeping up the practice until I open a venue of my own.  I will mention it to John Baker though.

Have you made any progress with setting up your own venue yet?

Let me know when it's done and I'll add a page to the classes area, and you can also add your own link / advert to the Links board as well (you can manage your own advertising on there then).

If the Thornbury chappie wants me to add his class as-is to the site I'll do that too.

Hi Lyndsey,

With the Leroc2000 Tuesday class now closed down  :'( :'(, which was held at the Wayne Packard Dance Centre in Yate, would you consider this venue? It serves areas such as Chipping Sodbury, Winterbourne, Frampton Cotterrell, Coalpit Heath, Yate, Pucklechurch etc. I believe the studio is still available tuesday evenings. Us local yocals in South Glos. would love a local class again! O0

Sha xx

P.S. You going to Swindon on Saturday? Fancy Twyford as I know the rabble are going.

Eh what?

Has Sherif's Tuesday class shut for good then?

I guess his Monday class is still ok?

Yep,

I believe the Tuesday class has been shut down indefinately. Sherif's class still runs on Mondays at St. Bon's as per usual.

So, there is a potential market over here! Us rural folk are missing our weekly fix!  :(

Packards dance studio, was a good venue, the floor was nice and the mirrors were great for posing in, so its ideal for couples doing comps, BUT the venue was sooooo small, and in classes it wasnt really pratical, if you had 2 rows of about 6 couples it was like sardines. Plus lack of stage didnt help.

but agree with Sharon, that there isnt much for us lot in north Bristol, although, Tuesdays have at least two other class clashes?

Hmmmm tricky one,

What about the leisure centre? where the classes used to be held?

Take a look at the Coalpit Heath village hall, attached to St. Saviour's church (just over the road from where I live).  We paid about £5 an hour last time we hired it.  A big hall, wooden floor (pretty good condition too).  Stage, separate rooms off the hall for kitchens / bags / whatever.

Just a thought.

Hi people, lots of suggestions here again so I will get on the case.  Thanks for being so helpful x

Marty did a fantastic job on Thursday, don't think he was too chuffed that I introduced him as 'chicken oriental' though!  He is always happy and smiling which is exactly what the public need to see - I think he really enjoyed himself too.  We are doing next week's beginners class (I need the practice!) :D

When you next see him, ask him about the 'tickle'! ;D ;D ;D

I loved it on Thursday!  :smitten:  What a buzz!  Thank you Lyndsey for puishing on with this Teaching idea.... it takes alot of dedication and work to get there!  You sort out the teaching, and I'll sort out the competition nitty gritty stuff!   O0

...it only clicked recently.... Lyndsey calls me "chicken" normally.... so its not a stones throw away from "oriental Chicken".... bit strange tho....  :2funny:

I don't blush often... so "tickling" on stage was an experience!   :crazy2:

Roll on this Thur!   :)

Lyndsey

What about tonight in Gloucester then, hope you felt it went well for you. Not often we get a lady teach.

Early on a young lady beginner asked me for a  dance - quite flattering for an old git like me. Later on saw Marty lead her a merry dance or two. He being much more inventive than me. I wonder whether she was local or another visitor from Bristol way. Nevertheless, she asked me again for the last dance, or the next to last. I was well chuffed.
