2007 Dance Resolutions
« on: December 28, 2006, 03:52 PM »
2007 is almost upon us.  :D  In addition to the usual promises of giving up chocolate/cigarettes/booze (delete as applicable), going to the gym, redecorating the bathroom, etc. etc. what are your Dance Resolutions for the New Year?  ::)

I better go first, seeing as I'm asking others to volunteer their plans.  Mine are to try a new style (maybe a bit of ballroom, inspired by SCD   8), maybe some ballet  O0)) and to do at least one competition.

Who's next?  :)

Once Sue's back on her feet again, I want to get to some more dances with her.

Well, i want get back into the comps, with my brand spanking new partner. Blackpool here we come! Aim for this year is to get through to the semis of the open. Anything more is added bonus.

Also had my first Kick Boxing / Tae Kwan Du / Self Defence lesson today, for 3 1/2 hrs, i punched the life outta this cusion. And apperntly i 'kick like a mule!' hahaha.

I want to start doing Salsa. I started last year, but found the beginners class to slow and easy, but didnt know enough to move up to advanced. So maybe book an intense private lesson, get the basics and jump in at the deep end. Also been looking at doing a Pole Dance class. And perhaps start WCS or Agentinian Tango.

So thats my plans.

Mine is to concentrate on my teaching and to make my new class (classes??) as succesful as possible.

Plus, I want to do Marty proud by getting through the first round of the open at Blackpool.

(I would love to try tango properly as well but I think that is pushing it slightly!)

Good Post Simon!

Bit of a delay in reply - I had to actually have a good think about it - rather than happily trundle on from where we all left off in 2006!

I'm pretty amazed and impressed by what Lyndsey has done last year - a proper supermum!  O0

Yup, aim to help Lyndsey with her class as much as possible - as her demo and competition dance partner.  It should be a cracker of a class - if we continue with our rather odd approach to dancing and costumes!   ;D

Ballroom and Latin - hell yeah!  want to give it a go this year!   :)
Tango? - I'll Teach Lyndsey any funky new bits and bobs I'll come across!  :)

Competitions:
Pressure is off now;  With Lyndsey being a teacher - we are in the open now.... We aim to just enjoy competition days this year - and start drinking once we have gone as far as we could on the day!   >:D

Still practice hard?  hell yeah!  :D
Specific goals??? next round would be nice - oh... and a few drinks along the way!  :)

Martin  :)

...i'm already nervous about getting a stiletto up the kyber at dances on crowded floors and didn't realise risk i was taking, letting her near my 'king dick' spanner. but it's 'do' surely - must be the French version?  :D

Hey, i need to learn how to fight back the boys at work. Did you see the state of my legs for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Bruises are almost gone now. I was rugby tackeld in a rather viscious way by several drunken collegues (animals). But im a kitten in reality  >:D

blimey Bex...it's like the Python 'fly in the soup' sketch out there; you can walk down the street and be attacked (it's not theeeeir fault and i'm getting £30k a year to attend focus group meetings and manage the problem rather than solve it) and yet one can cause the gravest offence by simply expressing an opinion or making a trivial aside! "they're coming to take me away haha hehe - to the happy farm and i'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats....etc" - i remember that track from my youth.

sorry - it was a fork :

- thank god he didn't ask for some rock music!
