Bristol Lindy Classes 2007
« on: January 05, 2007, 11:21 PM »
Starts Mon 8 Jan side hall elmgrove

new struicture:

7.45 - 8.35     BEGINNERS

8.45 - 9.10     IMPROVERS TRANSITION CLASS
This shorter class will look each week at  important classic standard moves, such as
Lindy Turns - Charlestons - Circles etc. that you will need for the INTERMEDIATE Class

9.20 - 10.10    INTERMEDIATES
N.B. ALL CLASSES MUST START ON TIME !!
it's the only way the new format will work

As you're aware, Swing Jive dance is a comparatively small and select interest, but those who
get into it get hooked, as we did, when they discover just what fabulous fun it is.
The aim of the new format is to try and keep the swing dance scene thriving and growing,
with perhaps a bit more interaction between the levels .

The hope is that most people could do, if not the whole evening, at least 2 classes. Either Classes 1 & 2 or classes 2 & 3

FROM A BEGINNER'S POINT OF VIEW - if you're feeling reasonably comfortable with the
first class, then class 2 is designed especially for you, giving you the next level of moves
shapes and flashy extras, as well as a chance to dance with some of the more experienced
dancers who usually do the intermediate class.

FROM AN INTERMEDIATE'S POINT OF VIEW - Given that you probably know all the
moves, this Improvers Transition class will give you the chance to concentrate on style, lead
& follow and the finer details. It will also be so helpful for the less experienced dancers
from the first class to get a chance to dance with you. Hopefully you'll be able to view
this class as an ideal warm-up for the following Intermediate class.

NEW PRICING
1 Class          £5.00
2 Classes       £6.00
All 3 classes  £7.00

Is there any freestyle at the end after the third class, Andrew?

Yes but it only tends to last for 15 - 20  mins as

1 everybody is knackered

2 due to 1 people go to the pub  O0

We're probably still on the sick list this week - especially in the run up to Rock Bottoms next weekend (in my case perhaps stressed list getting my DJ mojo going  :crazy2: ) but will be restarting soon (well I will anyway even if Julia's problems persist)
