Lifts to Dances from Fishponds
« on: February 27, 2007, 10:13 PM »
Was told to post new topic here rather than use the Lifts and Car Share section elsewhere?
Anyway, I fear my trusty little white metro is on its last legs (wheels(?)) and may cost more to get it through the MOT than it is worth.  So, I may need a lift soon to and from dances and/or classes from Fishponds, Bristol.  I always say my car is a bit like me, been around the block a few times, had a few not so careful owners, seen better days and in need of a little TLC and a bit of touch up in certain areas, veers a bit to the left on occasions, cheap to run, bit of a sod to start on cold and damp mornings, but otherwise reliable and hopefully likely to keep going for a few more years yet, though not without a certain amount of money being spent on it....
Of course the big bonus for any kind ladies that give me a lift is that they will have someone to dance with and who can keep going all night, (on the dance floor that is(!)) I also do not drink a lot even when I am not driving so they need have no worries on ferrying me around when I am the worse for drink.

Well, further to my last post on the subject the car has gone and I am now without transport.  >:( :( :-\ So, please if anyone is going tonight to St Bonaventures and is passing near the bottom end of Lodge Causeway, Fishponds, I would really appreciate a lift.  I can get to most places though it normally means 2 buses, but of course getting home is a bit trickier and a lot more expensive if I have to get a taxi which I did from Kingswood a few weeks ago.  :idiot2: :knuppel2: :uglystupid2:  A lift back to the centre would be helpful on Saturday nights as I can get the Night Flyer up to Fishponds from town.  I am more than happy to pay my way, help with petrol costs, and even pay your entrance fee.  It looks as though I will be without a car for a while now so please get in touch if you are going to any dances or classes in and around Bristol and you can give me a lift.  O0

Yet another week without a car and yet another week of not much dancing.  :( >:( :'(   :embarassed:  :idiot2:  :'( :'(  There must be someone out there who could give me a lift to or at least home from some of the classes and/or events in and around Bristol?  I can get to most places even though it takes 2 buses but getting home again afterwards is awkward to say the least even at weekends.  As I have said before I am more than willing to pay petrol costs if anyone has to go a bit out of their way to get to near Lodge Causeway, Fishponds, and/or pay your entrance fee.

Help! As yet I haven't got a lift to St Bons tonight, so may not be able to go!   If anyone is travelling near lodge causeway, Fishponds en route to St Bons, I would really appreciate a lift and tomorrow (Warmley) would be good as well.  I am sorry to have to keep asking for lifts but there is no way I can get a car for a while, unless of course I win the lotto.  What was it the late and great Bob Monkhouse said, "Lord I have been a sinner, now please make me a winner!"
