Watch out all ladies who take handbags to Le Roc classes.  Two bags were pinched at yesterday's class.

Hi SheRa,

Thanks for the heads-up.

This is a problem that happens at other classes from time to time too - it's an unfortunate reflection on society.

The best recommendation is use block / term tickets if they're available - you can get away with just turning up with some shoes and a smile.

Sometimes it is just an innocent mistake and things come back the next week.

I'll keep an eye out at my own class for anything suspicious though.

Thanks.

I found this really upsetting and it's the first time it's happened at any of my venues.

We think we?ve identifies two ladies who got into the class during the break between classes when there is always people coming in and out of the class, some of which have already paid and some which haven?t.

Just be a bit vigilant and let the organisers know if you see anything or anyone that doesn?t quite fit the bill.

We?ll be doing what we can to ensure this doesn?t happen again.

I very rarely take a bag just in case this happens - it's easy pickings!  At Clifton there are student flats opposite - not that I am pointing a finger but we know how hard up it can be as a student!!!!  (by the way - I got a job when I was at college!)

I have to admit I always take my bag with me. And, to be honest, I don't normally give it a second thought. We're such a trusting lot, us dancers! (Besides, have you seen my bag? There's just so much stuffed in there - how could I survive without it?!)

I'm not surprised you're upset, John. Hope you get to the bottom of it all soon.

It worked.  Believe it or not the same people came back this week and tried it again.  Unfortunatley can't prove it was them last week and they had nothing on them this time so couldn't do anything, but they got a reprimand from the police.  Thanks to Nick for spotting them and for the person who noticed them too and reported it to me.

I always like to dance round mine - sorry to be flippant. I understand that the miscreants have been caught and hope the two lady victims haven't lost too much nor been too inconvenienced. Had 2 bikes nicked in Bristol and tend to keep valuables close at hand - personally.

..on the whole jive is pretty safe - this is only the second time in Bristol I've heard about since I've been dancing...
