If you look at my ad on this site on the events details page there should be a map link underneath it.
http://www.leroc-in-bristol.co.uk/Events_Details.htm#LR2K_WCS

On the events calendar, there is a map link next the event as well which you can follow to the venue page:
http://leroc-in-bristol.co.uk/Events_Calendar.asp

Phil's pointed you to the right page though for just the venue itself.

There's always a map on the Leroc2000 website:

http://leroc.net/leroc2000/

 :) But as it's you, Anita - here's a direct link:

That's why it's always best to check the organiser's website....  ;) >:D

What's the venue like, Lou?  Does it have a nice big slippery dancefloor?  ;)  I've never been there.

Will there be a bar in the evening?  Also, having done the WCS workshop, will David Barker be doing some DJ-ing in the evening so that we can practice?

As there's a gap between the workshop and the freestyle, does anyone fancy going for an evening meal nearby?  I know of the British Raj curry house in Westbury on Trym, what else is available?  Or are people going home to eat and freshen up before returning?

D'you know - I've never been there!  :o

However, I have a feeling the floor is somewhat fast, as I think I remember a thread about it on the old forum, when John was having his Halloween Party there.

Elaine will remember, I'm sure!  ;D

And as for DavidB DJ-ing .... the feller is often lurking around here.... Perhaps we can persuade him out of lurkdom to tell us some plans!  ;)

Yeah, it's a pretty fast floor.  I recommend trainers if you have them - the time I was last there I ended up skidding all over the place.

Mind you, I'm used to the Elmgrove floor so anything feels fast in comparison to that!  ::)

Thanks for all the info everyone-- I'm just a bit thick but I know where to find it now. I still think it would be easier if the full address was printed on the original advertising leaflet though & then you wouldnt need to go hunting around elsewhere--some people havent got computers or cant use them you know! But then I'm just an old fashioned gal. Not sure what everyones doing between the workshop & the dance Simon but not sure I could dance on top of a curry-- I have enough trouble anyhow! ;)

If it's any help, every time I add an event to th details page I add a venue map too, even if it's not supplied by the organiser.  May help...

John would it be use full to put a venue description on your web site

E.g. floor size and surface
Parking
Bar facilities
Nearest curry house /pub /café

Ps the Newman hall is similar to St Bonn?s and Kingwood, it is normally possible to get a drink a separate bar if the bar in dance hall is closed

Will provide some info on the venues when I get a chance.

Yup, I remember - it's fast!  Take a parachute with you and all will be fine!

We will be going home in between the workshop and the dance for a cup of tea and a slice of cake!  Anyone seen the Vicar?  ;D

I would just like to say that I used the splendidly positioned map on Sherif's website to find the NH. ;)
But I am still a bit unsure of where it is, simply because I have never been to that part of Bristol before and these days, I don't view travelling through new 'urban' territory by car as an adventure.  Is the 'any fool can do it' route via Clifton/Whiteladies road and right at the Downs? (sort of thing)  ???
