The Bristol LeRoc / modern jive dance classes are diverse and provide a blend of teaching styles and music styles that are complimentary. If you want to keep them... go to your classes and support them! Check out the free dance, music and theatre clipart images in the new Clipart Library

Hi Nick, phew, right, functionality extras...

1. You can have a karma rating, so you can smite or applaud people who make good or bad comments. They build up a reputation then, visible to others.  Dorks beware!!!

2. You can change "themes" and select completely different views on the forum.

3. You can change "smiley sets" - you should see the afro smiley, wicked!  O0  >:D ^-^ plus I can add extra smileys in too, so if you find any fab ones let me know...  >:D

4. You can have polls, so start up your own surveys on whatever topic you want.  One vote per person though!

5. You can upload your own avatar picture.

6. You can add your own attachments to the posts, i.e. I don't have to do it for you.

7. It's database driven, so a lot faster (in theory).

8. You can collapse boards, so if you don't give a hoot about the "other dance styles" section, click on the arrow next to the category name, and voila!  Hidden boards.

9. More stats.  You can see who's the top poster, which topics are fun, which boards are doing what etc.

10.  You can see who's online by the icon next to their post.  If it lights up green, they're on.

11. You get a running commentary about who's where, so if you're in the Q&A section and I am too, you'll see a message at the top listing the fact that I'm in too.

12.  IMs work better, and you get notified in a clearer manner when one arrives for you.

13. Notifications work better.

14.  I have more moderator powers, so I can split coversations mid-flow or join other conversations together.

15. Auto repair and optimisation ensures that all flows well behind the scenes.

16. Addition of a calendar.  This automatically shows your birthdays (if you enter the details for your profile), and also any events that you add manually.  The listing for next seven days is shown on the info panel on the bottom of the front screen.

17. You can do a lot more with your personal settings, including being able to hide when you're online, or block people from sending you messages.

18. In your profile section, you get all sorts of tracking and summary info, so you can see a particular person's last posts, etc.

Errr.  Still learning about the rest of it!

How's that?

John.
