...nice to get the repeat move, successive weeks, eg: 'you turn, the lady's not for turning' this week but i hope to repeat the seq. tonight at L's though i think i'll insert some mambo steps (as suggested)  before doing the strangler move (hope i don't run out of partners  >:D )

Enjoyed the class and even managed a seducer on K.M. though she's not the most petite of ladies (tall) and looks all allwite the colour she is. http://www.leroc-in-bristol.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2145.msg11892;topicseen#msg11892

the dance music 'vehicle' is by 'blood, sweat and tears' off (t.t.o.) my head  :D JE played the kiki dee track i mentioned for St. Bonns. but i don't see how the sampler's random noise benefits it! How about the original?

I struggled with the Salsa strangle, but I think I finally got it right with Jivedave! :)

(I am not that tall - you should meet our daughters, the eldest is just over 6ft, , while the younger is rapidly catching up at 5ft 10ins.  I will soon be the shortest member of the family when our 14 year old son overtakes me :()

thanks Karen - it's not often i get accused of getting something right  ;) Last night i had a little more trouble doing 'the move' (won't say s*******r- people might wonder  :idiot2: ) as the 'victims' hadn't encountered it before but mainly because i was hanging (oh no, more unfortunate connotations  ??? )

Some moves seem easier and others more difficult, with better height matched partners but i suppose it's more important to be as supple as possible - self evident really. But we mustn't forget the stylish high heels, often worn.  ;)

Those 'stylish high heels' can be a problem where you're tall enough already!  I have thought about trying those split sole trainer things, but, they would look terrible with an evening dress, so not much point in learning to dance in them!   :D

i weren't suggesting for you, Karen! but dahling, i know from personal experience that they can be real pain. On one of my early leroc lessons the rather tall well built lady in the row behind me stepped back and her stiletto 'impinged' on the back of my ankle - i hate it when that happens. Sort of reminded me another post about losing weight and wearing trousers - i remember working for a local brickie after 6th form before studentification and being told by some plasterers that every day i was getting thinner (i thought the best labourers were the wirey guys - non big muscular). One day slipping off a muddy plank with my barrow full of blocks (about 7 ) into a 4' trench and having them land on my bare torso and the guys laughing when i stood up (probably from relief), made my eyes water - i hate it when that happens.  Ramble on  :D

As one of the 'undead', i never actually sleep  >:D - no it just feels like it. I've got into such a routine of getting up early (it's difficult not to, even w.ends) that when they vary my hours i still wake up before 5:00 and so i fill in time a little with some 'blogging'. I might aswell go dancing eve.s because even if i don't get to bed by 12:00 i still wake up at the same time-ish.

I was thinking of parallels for the menial running-about job i have now and i remembered being rather proud of being able to do the labouring job.

I'm trying to look for some positives (for having vastly reduced circumstances though that has had it's salutary side) and getting fitter and losing the 'hunched over a screen paunch' is one. I hope to at least partially get back into computing/technical work and have found a couple of local firms i'm approarch if i can get up to speed though i'd like to keep the fitness regime going and have the time to do so.

I might as well put things here as typing something out can focus one's thoughts and SO FEW PEOPLE seem to have anything to say.

Dancing - at least locally - is a relatively inexpensive way forgetting life's woes. If only i had a little more energy.  ;)
