Hmmm, that's interesting!

OK, is it you who is the holder, or somebody else?

How do you anticipate the trademark affecting dancers and/or websites?

John.
The Bristol LeRoc / modern jive dance classes are diverse and provide a blend of teaching styles and music styles that are complimentary. If you want to keep them... go to your classes and support them! Check out the free dance, music and theatre clipart images in the new Clipart Library

I am at work in Business library, so decided to have a look for the trademark details.  Find them at:

I'm no expert but it seems to be specifically 'LEROC'. All capitals, one word. There is no mention of LeRoc, Leroc or sentences containing these word. So websites such as LeRoc-in-Bristol using the word or classes called Nailsea Leroc, Portishead LeRoc would not be affected.

sollen wir DasRoc haben, habe ich Deutsch als Franzosiche lieber?  >:D

- think the words are in the right order now, that and getting the word endings (declination?) correct, is quite tricky. i can listen to German radio over the www and at at least have some understanding of what's being discussed.

Actually - it's not even the word. It's a set of graphics of the word. Billy posted it on the Scottish forum as well, so I wondered if he'd been here too.  ::)

If you're interested, the thread's here:
http://www.cerocscotland.com/forum/lets-talk-about-dance/15509-leroc-trademark.html

There are a couple of lawyers there - hopefully they can explain a bit more. Plus we've asked Billy to clarify his post a little.  ;)

BTW... that's a VERY useful link, Phil.  O0 ;D O0

Hmmm, curiouser and curiouser.

All you have to do is trademark the logo using some of the standard web fonts, and voila, nobody can use it (or worse) you can use it if you pay money?

That's interesting.

I would imagine Billy might have an interesting time coming up as some people could really really take that the wrong way...

Me?  I don't care as long as I can keep running my website without interference.

Of course it could just be a marketing ploy to raise awareness of his site... :)

Do you believe it when they say "there's no such thing as bad publicity"?

Any response to the myriad of questions here and elsewhere Billy?

I am sure if you can

If I was using LEROC Leroc  leroc  or LeRoc in my trading name

I would be on to my  patent agent PDQ

We've been here before around 10 years ago of course.  I think Billy was part of the group that contested a previous trademark!!

....been here before around 10 years ago .....

Beware there were some significant recent changes in Trademark law

Which I think Billy may have taken advantage of

Taking a slightly different stance...

... are there any benefits to having the leroc name trademarked?

OK, a good definition.

But maybe I should rephrase the question:

Are there any benefits to the Leroc industry in having the leroc name trademarked?
