Arrived just after 9:00 already fully warmed-up on an eve. that ebbed and flowed. Dogs on cycle path (better than thugs i suppose) then mini-bus taxi driver (i actually saw one use his indicators last week) showing off to his young women passengers cuts-me-up, at speed - i suppose getting older and being on a bike qualifies me for double contempt. Moaned to a group of coppers - seemed more interested in checking my lights were on.
Sorry ladies about the slight whiff of ale on my breath; the only palish ale JDs had was rated at 7% ABV (deceptively palatable, an impertinent little beverage, if unawares one easilly get caught out but had to be a better than choc. flavoured dark ale option. Must be trying to tempt the alco pop brigade) - i like one pint, just to relax.
Oh yes, dancing: The class was pretty busy but I think only one guy over for intermed.s. I didn't note the moves, so here goes :
first move , 'throw' lady's LH across shoulder and M lean left
change places catch both right , Sway in and back, step forward and pivot lady round so that M's R arm across her front.
Walk forward then reverse with sync.ed kicks.
Wind Mill 1/2?
then finish with 'short' ? boomerang.
enjoyed the eve. though the class sequence went to pieces (for me) with my last partner, sorry. It's satisfying (imho) to learn not over complex and 'do-able' moves (like the first move and Sway variations) that make the freestyle more interesting.
Plenty of people stayed for freestyle and i had some fun dances till the end - thanks ladies.
This week and last, it was nice to see some familiar faces, people who haven't been for quite a time.
