the only sad part was coming home to find Humphrey Littleton had passed away  :(

... sounds like he was lodging with Phil :D but Humph's shuffling of the mortal coil was obviously well timed - the lengths to which people will go to get a mention on the Bristol Leroc Forum  >:D Incidentally, a terrific career move as Bex now knows who he is/was.  ;)

I was disappointed to find Karen not wearing her stilettos at the Folk House (i think their mention counts as threatening behaviour  ;) ) as i was looking forward to being ejucated in the manner of the Max Mosley (just remembered there is a Mosley Arms in the Shalesmore? district of Sheffield ? yes, red light area) school of correction :D :D :D

Enjoyed last night's dancing but it won't make the news.  :'( but can't get along Saturday.

Sorry about the facetiousness.  :idiot2:

Regarding your comment on mortal coils...

... if a solenoid breaks down, does it depart this mortal coil?

[I was disappointed to find Karen not wearing her stilettos at the Folk House (i think their mention counts as threatening behaviour  ;) ) as i was looking forward to being ejucated in the manner of the Max Mosley......

I am a bit sheltered, maybe I have spent too long researching coelacanths
and hydrogen sulphide chimneys recently, but who is Max Mosely and what
does he do with stilettoes?   ;)

( I have just finished the rather boring Open University assignment so I am a happy bunny indeed  :), and talking of bunnies, have to catch mine and take her to the vets in a carrier bag shortly for her myxomatosis jab, hoping she hasn't dug another hole to hide in!)

..He is (for now) president of motor racing's FIA and was caught (pictured in a Sunday tabloid) with his trousers... and strategically placed chequered flag  >:D... whilst being 'punished' and the stiletto 'threat' reminded me of the story  :idiot2:

stilettos are, dare i say sexy though i do find them a little uncomfortable  >:D

I knew i'd end-up having to explain  ;) - people in the news cheat in the most blatant, humiliating ways and are forgiven and i simply liked beer  :D

here goes, picking-up on coils :

Not so much solenoids but I played around with dual ignition coils with the idea of boosting the plug spark. I seem to remember that the starter solenoids on some early ?automatics? would allow one to bypass the safety interlocks and fire up the engine from under the bonnet  whilst in drive which could have ?fun? consequences.

Other sorts of coils are available but I won?t pretend to know anything about them which brings me a little explanation of what I was doing in the red light district of  northern city. I?ve found a few photos of the Kelham Island industrial museum (located there) which I visited and found some very pleasant pubs in the area. (and a shot of a couple of colleagues doing a rather wet stroll near the Ribblehead viaduct). Working away gives the opportunity to experience other places without much further travel.

Near the Mosley Arms, I did get propositioned with ?are you looking business?? (though I wasn?t wearing a pin stripe suit) by a rather attractive blonde lady of about  30. Despite having plenty of dosh at that time, I of course declined any monetary transaction though she thanked me for complimenting her on her appearance. She was wearing a long dress which seems unusual from images shown in the media and brought to mind the ?curved air? track ?back street love? as it seemed to fit the circumstances (Summer but she was seated on some steps not a wall) . I had a bit of a very non-PC joke about my encounter with the DJ in a pub I liked to visit where they?d have a pop music quiz.

Back to dancing ? it?s replaced pubs as my favourite evening social activity which is probably a very good thing in that I think I?m going to need my limited wits about me (as might other people) in the coming few years. Sadly there don?t seem to be so many dances in the calendar during May, locally.

the museum had some quite touching and informative displays from bygone days. The steam engine was build to power the rolling of steel plate for warships and i accidentally moved the camera in the gloom which gives an appearance of life to the steam hammer image.

ok, it's a long way from dancing but fred dibnah aficionados (had to check the spelling) will admire this: http://www.simt.co.uk/collections/collections-2-1.html

OK, moving all discussions of solenoids, "ladies of dubious moral values" and stilettoes out of the dancing thread...

I would like to start a new thread over here.

Thank you for that intermission... and now, back to the topic.

John.

The Bristol LeRoc / modern jive dance classes are diverse and provide a blend of teaching styles and music styles that are complimentary. If you want to keep them... go to your classes and support them! Check out the free dance, music and theatre clipart images in the new Clipart Library

I'm sorry but 'Humph' was the initial dance deviation and i didn't bring up solenoids nor stilettos - merely moving the discussion on a little :D (i've got my theories and solutions pertaining to the young lady's tragic predicament - but i won't share them though possibly she was a police officer?)

Any question should be taken up with a representative of my complaints dept. (shown in action, below)

Initial consultation is free but the plaintiff won't have a leg to dance on.  >:D

and cases are taken on the basis of no win - no head. i may have found the answer to prison overcrowding ,early release and reoffending at a stroke >:D  >:D >:D

John.

And then Jivedave posts a picture of his chopper in reply  :o  :o  :o  :o

No thread could hope to hold him  ;D  I think you're trying to herd cats here John  ;) But it all adds to the gaiety of the nation I suppose  :)  :)
