Being in the area, I decided to visit the Ceroc
TM class in Worcester last night. And, after finally finding the venue (which was trickier than I thought!

) I had much fun. It was a function room in a pub.
The lass on the door wasn't particularly welcoming (considering I was a stranger), so I have to admit I did wonder whether I'd done the right thing in going... but once I joined in the Beginners class, everyone was very warm & friendly. There were 4 moves - pretty much the same as you'd expect to find in a LeRoc Beginners class. An Arm-Jive with a Swizzle exit, a Basket, a Shoulder Silde & a Catapult. The only odd thing to my Bristol LeRoc trained eye, was that there was a Return before the Catapult, whereas, down here, we'd leave it out.
There was a bit of freestyle after the beginners class. Unfortunately, the dancefloor is a bit small to hold the numbers of people who were there, and I got trod on.

The floor was also on the slow-to-medium side, so I nipped off to change from my trainers into the Mock Croc Spanking Shoes
TM, which suited it far better. I'd also arranged to meet up with a chap from the Scottish forum, and fortunately I was able to find him by the description of his footwear.

Anyway - I had some lovely dances with several nice chaps & then it was time for Intermediates.
There were 3 moves in the routine. There was a variation of the Armjive/Basket bit in the beginner's class, which added a bit of travelling to both parts, and a pretty neat Pretzel variation, with a block & freespin. The one thing I noticed about Debi's teaching was that she spent a lot of time talking & there was less time dancing the moves than perhaps we'd do here. But she was very clear, enthusiastic, and certainly knew her stuff.
The atmosphere was very friendly, indeed. (OK, with one exception, where 2 chaps were rowing at the bar, but that was quite amusing, actually!). I had a natter with Debi later & when she found out I was from Bristol she wanted to make sure I knew that Ceroc
TM were starting a venue in May!! Bless. The music was pretty safe - Shania, Kylie, S Club, etc., but I was surprised to find myself dancing to Deep Purple.

I asked the DJ later (a lovely old chap called Pops & a real character), to find out it had been a request.
Anyway -'twas a lovely night, with very friendly locals, and if you find yourselves in the area, you could do a lot worse than visit Ceroc
TM Worcester.
