Ah, and here's a development on the story!

Quote
Lap dancers object to 'sex' label

Angry lap dancers have taken part in a protest against government plans to reclassify them as sex workers.

Campaigners against the clubs want them to be relabelled as 'sex encounter establishments' and say councils should be given more control over them.

But the Lap Dancing Association, which represents a third of the industry's clubs, claims this would stigmatise performers.

Its members say sexual activity does not take place in regulated clubs.

On Tuesday, Lap dancers Lynsey Catt, Sian Wilshaw, Katherine Martinez, and Sharon Warneford presented a petition with nearly 3,000 signatures to Number 10 Downing Street, on behalf of the association.

The full story can be read here.

Reminds me of an old joke:

Quote
Three old friends get together after many years apart.

They go to a lapdancing club, to catch up, celebrate and have a bragging session about how well they're doing in their lives.

The first guy beckons the lap dancer over, puts £50 in her g-string, and proclaims proudly that he is the MD of a computer company.

The second guy (not to be outdone) beckons the lap dancer over, sticks £100 in her g-string, and proudly states that he owns his own manufacturing company.

The third guy thinks quickly, beckons the dancer over, pulls out his credit card, swipes it down between the dancer's butt-cheeks, and grabs the money.  He grins, and says "Banker!".
