Monday 3rd November
« on: November 04, 2008, 09:34 PM »
Jenni was back teaching the intermediate class as John was unavailable.
No fancy footwork this time and I enjoyed the routine once I finally got the hang of it. Although, there was a lot of spinning for the ladies. I think some were getting quite dizzy by the end. :-)

The routine started with a first move resistor. This is only the second time I have come across a resistor move being taught in a lesson. It seemed to work OK in the controlled environment of the class but, I'm not sure that I'd cope very well if a partner resisted unexpectedly during free dance. Thankfully it hasn't happened yet. I manage to go wrong quite often enough without any help.

Just wondered what other peoples views were on resistors (no Dave not the little coloured ones on circuit boards)?

I liked the resister move, and think it could be quite fun to surprise men now and again by doing this one!  I like the idea of pushing the man around once in a while  >:D.

Hey it's a dance class - you're supposed to let the man push you around for a few hours in the week!

I actually quite like resistance moves - figure 8 resistor works well, but if the guy is canny you can stick some really wicked retaliation moves in as part of the follow-up...
The Bristol LeRoc / modern jive dance classes are diverse and provide a blend of teaching styles and music styles that are complimentary. If you want to keep them... go to your classes and support them! Check out the free dance, music and theatre clipart images in the new Clipart Library
