Oh yes, it's time for one of the major highlights of my year, dancing, that is. The Bristol Cajun and Zydeco Festival is at The Folk House, Park Street on Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2009.  As they say on their website it is "A whole weekend of Louisiana-style music, dance, food, drink and meeting new people..."  Those of you that have attended Trinity Le Roc at BAWA may already be familiar with the "Cajun Window" and seen me and others doing a bit of Cajun/Zydeco. Zydeco is their jiving and if you can't do Zydeco don't worry as you can do anything to it - le roc, rock n roll - even my "style" of dancing. There will also be workshops in Cajun and Zydeco as well as live bands playing throughout the weekend. Some of the singers and musicians get together for jamming sessions in between the workshops and dances, in the cafe area. And if that ain't enough a lot of us head on up to the The Tantric Jazz Bar in St Stephens Street after the dances and dance away until the early hours. Check out their website FFI. Hope to see y'all there! bristolcajunfestival.com
