So what to do this weekend Two events in Bristol on Friday and a Tea dance on Sunday

If, like me, you have not made your mind up, you can vote next week and tell us were you went

I am keen to try La Attica any one else going

I usually go to this but, sadly, this Saturday it clashes with Helen's Birthday Celebration at Cheltenham Pittville to which everyone is invited.

Blimey - voting looks a bit sparse at the this stage of the electoral process (correction - several by time of mod.) but i've put my x against Hanham (Kingswood) for Fri as it's pretty close to me - easy biking range - and i don't want to be up too late as i've got my little job, Sat. morning. I guess BAWA will be a big draw but Steve's last Hanham Folk Centre event was very good (imho) and there should be enough potential participants to make both a success.

Then I plan to get to Filton on Sunday.

I hope the ventillation is good whatever the venue as i find them all pretty hot - which makes me overheat and i don't want to cause offence by removing clothing :D (my own, that is >:D). I suspect a tendency for (some) dance floors to become more sticky (due to coatings or crud) as the room temperature rises which generally makes the dancing less enjoyable (imho) but when they're really fast - i find that unnerving :-\

I will be missing them all as I have to go all the way up to Leeds to go shopping for a Bridesmaid's dress for my sister's wedding next year.  It wouldn't be so bad if a) I didn't hate shopping and b) she knew wat she wanted.  As it is we're just going to look at what's out tere and suspect we will come away empty handed - which means that at some point soon I'll have to do it all over again :-\

I enjoyed both weekend events (Hanham and Filton). Hanham could have done with a few more people but the M/F ratio -> 1 as the evening progressed. Only slight downer personally, was me being a bit tired but had some fun dances on a good floor to some good music O0 Missed out on a dance with one or two ladies - maybe next time? Funny it wasn't that long ago I liked to be out to all hours.

THe last Sunday afternoon dance i attented was one of AW's at Yatton and so i was really pleased to get along to Filton and wasn't disappointed. A good number of people but still plenty of room and a nice relaxed atmosphere -must be a daytime person. ???

Here's a fairly relaxed  80's rock track that  I wouldn't mind trying for dance (seemed pleasant listening when driving when i tried an old tape) I think the message of the (questionable?) video is to keep your head while all the dummies are losing theirs :idiot2:

Thanks to organisers and partners for some  fun dances  O0
