9th May Moves-including video of routine
« on: May 10, 2005, 07:38 AM »
Last night we had fun with the following routine for intermediates

First move block
Catapult manspin
Open Mambo steps
Streamer
Helicopter comb

Here's a short video clip of the routine.  See if you can find the deliberate ommision from the routine on the night!!

Also, good news is that the Folk House have installed two high power air conditioning units.  It made a real difference.

Something missing from the catapault man-spin perhaps?? ::)

Excellent routine by the way, John

ABsolutely! Very good news! Now, instead of jostling for position under the fans, we will be jostling for position in front of the A/C units!!

Yes, excellent, John and Jacquie - the video cliip, move names and my failing memory should combine to enable me to try out the moves on selected victims (sorry, partners) tomorrow! >:D

Brilliant idea to put the video clips on, John.  ;D

I liked that Mambo move. I especially liked the footwork changes  ;) (The first time John leads Left foot forward, the second time Right). It looked really nice as it emphasises the outside foot.  :) Was it tricky to teach?

Did I make it look hard?  I could see that something wasn't getting through initially with some people, but most got it after a few goes.  Choice of song for the video wasn't ideal, it worked nicely in the class to Paradise by Kaci.  Hadn't played it for ages.  I love that song!!

Nope - not at all. It flowed very nicely. :)

Yeah the mambo step thing is pretty cool. I use that in my dancing a fair bit (tho i do it slightly differently in terms of getting into the move), but achieve the same result. Nice moves in the routine.
