It has to be said that with dancing it's very easy to make mistakes though - on both sides.

I can never work out whether somebody apologising to me during a dance is amusing, good manners, or irritating.  To me, to dance with a lady is a pleasure.  If the lady makes a mistake, I don't care - just the fact that she is dancing with me is enough to ensure apologies are not needed.

Dance and be merry.

My sentiments exactly John.

For me social dancing is about enjoyment not technical expertise. If I get to the end of a dance feeling good and having enjoyed the experience, then the partner I've been dancing with is a good dancer.  :)

1. Patience
2. Connection - in part an ability to have the right amount to stiffness or floppyness in their arms.
3. Musicality - an ability to dance to the beat or the melody.

I would agree Connection is, one of , if not, the, most important aspect of being a good dancer .
looking  at another thread, I am at a loss to  understand, how a connection can be established with out a frame

I'm sure I 'connect' quite well with some people but I didn't even know what a 'frame' was until reading the discussion started on another thread!

So there we go....  :)

I think the frame thing is a bit like asking "What did people breathe before they discovered air?".

You do what you do to dance, even if the ways you do it are known by different names.
