Review: Nailsea Dance, Saturday 22nd May 2010
« on: May 23, 2010, 05:27 PM »
Hi All,

I went along to this dance last night, and was very pleased I went.

There were plenty of ladies to dance with, including some of the usual faves.

The music was quite unusual in places - lots of rock'n'roll, just rock, and some retro music blended in with some good chart hits - the mix was nice to have, as some dances can focus purely on one or two styles of music.  This is one thing I like about the Nailsea dances... good character.  I was pleased to hear "She Said" by Plan B and "Bust Your Windows" (?) which are both excellent tracks.

The venue was the same as ever, though it was a hot-as-blazes night, and the dancing didn't do much to cool me down!  Thankfully the doors were open so we could walk in and out of the hall as needed.  The bar also had a massive urn of highly chilled water too, which was quite popular with the dancers for some reason...  :coolsmiley:

I was quite tired, so didn't enjoy the dance as much as I could have, but that's no reflection on Nailsea - and if I turned in a substandard performance for any of the ladies I danced with then I offer my apologies now.

Overall I am looking forward to the next dance!

John.

Not sub-standard dancing when dancing with me John :)

I too had a great time at Nailsea last night, not a huge crowd but I kept dancing nearly all evening and there were plenty of guys that are 'good to dance with' there  :)

Not sure about the music - some not to my taste, but then, everyone can't be pleased all of the time.
Unfortunately can't make next one as have a party to attend  :'(   The party had better be a good one!

Music is always the deciding factor for me, and it was spot on at Bath, which was packed out.  :) O
