The routine from last night was:

- Step across - Neckbreak - Catapult

- First move -- Tummy block | First move variation, instead of bringing the lady back in front, swap hands and keep the lady turning, while moving backwards. The spin is stopped by the man's hand being extended across the lady's stomach. |
| - Continuous lasso sway x2 | A nice travelling move, reversing spin direction from the tummy block. Excellent way to highight lead requirements for such moves. End the backwards travel with a sway, but the man steps back on the right foot (not the outside one) so that the man can swap the lady's hand into his left. |
- Tornado exit -- Lunge variation | Lead with the left hand, bring the lady in front, spin over the head. Add another spin, using the lady's momentum to wrap the man's hand around her body, and lunge straight down into a drop. Come out of the move and swap to a right-handed grip. |
| - Catapult spin | Catapult variation, with an overhead spin exit for the lady. Man keeps the left hand high, catches underhanded with the right hand. Two-handed return. |
| - Overhead change | Standard move, return to first move start position. |
The whole routine was developed to
a) Give the men practice at moving around the dancefloor.
b) Give the men practice and leading confidently but smoothly, without needing signals.
The catapult was given to practice the move, and practice the diamond-positioning for the men as they orbit the ladies during the move. This makes for a much smoother version of the catapult.
The first three moves required a lot of travel - getting the footwork right provided a "metronome effect" on which the rest of the first half of the routine hinged.
A successful pass at this routine would be detected by a smooth transition through all moves.
