If any of you get down to North Cornwall in the near future, check out the Newquay Jive scene.  They are a tremendous bunch and very welcoming!!

Mark and Lizzie came to stay with us for two days and we made a foray to Indian Queens.  The standard of dancer was really, really good down there!  The teachers were superb - in the beginners, they kept emphasing things like 'don't stir' the Lady in spins  (with demo!!!) and 'you don't have to grip - try holding your partners hand with one or two fingers' - and they explained 'compression'

'Im and I were asked to do a demo and I managed to get Mark and Lizzie involved as well, as they are pretty good at aeriels.  Being friendly folk, they invited us to go back on Saturday to a party to give another demo, but as we are on holiday, decided against it!

So, there you are, if you are down that way, take your dance shoes with you - you will have a wonderful time!

I don't get it - what's superb about that? 

It's standard technique at Elmgrove.  All teachers worth their salt should be doing that kind of thing.  And we always make a point of demostrating the good technique and the bad technique, so that it's obvious why things are done.

Ah yes, I saw that he goes down there - also, Gary and Silve from Taunton taught there last week.  We missed Wadebridge as it is held on a Sunday evening and the surf was calling instead!!

Yeah that.  I'd definitely love to pop down there to dance. Especially, if the natives are friendly, too!

I couldn't agree more.  My better half and I went there last summer when we were in Cornwall on honeymoon.  We had a great time, and we'll definitely be going back next time we're in the vicinity.

We told them we were on honeymoon, and from that point on we didn't have a chance to sit down!  They were really welcoming, and I had some great dances there.
