Tracks you always dance to
« on: June 07, 2005, 01:10 PM »
You can see the tumbleweed blowing through this part of the forum so i thought I'd post something to cheer it up  :D

I was asked on Saturday what a piece of music was (it was In-Grid's Tu Es Fuoto) & to recommend other stuff I like. So I said I'd just put the tracks on a CD. So here's  "20 songs I would always dance to even though some have been done to death" that I've burned to CD (not in any order) -

Tu Es Fuoto - In-Grid
En Tango (Dance mix) - In-Grid
Fuoco Nel Fuoco - Eros Ramazotti
Shivaree - Goodnight Moon
Strict Machine - Goldfrapp
Livin' Thing - The Beautiful South
Vem Vet - Lisa Ekdahl
Wade in the Water - Eva Cassidy
Cry To Me - Solomon Burke
Straight To...Number One/Dreamcatcher's Mix - Touch & Go
Latin Lover - Lemon
The Business of Love - Domino
Sway - The Pussycat Dolls
Mambo Italiano - Shaft
In These Shoes? - Bette Midler
Why Don't You Do Right? - Sinéad O'Connor
Friday 13th - Royal Crown Revue
Tango In Harlem - Touch & Go
Whatever Lola Wants - Gotan Project
Ice Cream Man - Screamin' Jay Hawkins

Anyone else want to join in to make this part of the forum feel loved?

Brilliant thread, Andrew. I'm with you on pretty much all of it.

Particularly
En Tango (Dance mix) - In-Grid

God, yes. :sob:

Shivaree - Goodnight Moon
Strict Machine - Goldfrapp

Totally there!

Livin' Thing - The Beautiful South

I hate that song so much I even turned down a chance to dance with our Graham to it. That tells you how much I loathe its complete naffness.  :o

Am going to add to your list:

Let's Get Loud - J.Lo (as an old standard)
She Bangs - Ricky Martin
Toxic - Britney Spears
Foolish - Tyler James
Save The Last Dance For Me - Michael Buble
Dimelo - Marc Anthony
The Snake - Al Wilson

oh, and....
5,6,7,8 - Steps (hehe - Matt was so impressed that it was my SMS Ringtone....)

 ;)

Aww I think it's cute ... perhaps I'll replace it with something in a similar vein "The Hand That Feeds" maybe?

Marty gets pretty close to coming off the Xmas card list for even having mentioned THAT

Becky already did (But you already spotted that  ::) ) .. but Rise is better so she might like that one. But if we're getting "clubby" I'd have to add Faithless feat Nina Simone "I want more"

Would have done if Bex hadn't got there first!!!  ;D  :D  ;D

Fab chunes Andrew, but I prefer 'in these shoes' by Kirsty McCall - in fact, that is my numero uno track to dance to!!!  8)

Also like Etta James 'I just want to make love to you' and 'time of my life' - dirty dancing........

No doubt will think of more later!!

I love both versions, I just like the more big band approach to the arrangement on Bette's version - different strokes for different folks

I'm with Elaine on this one. I prefer the Latin-y feel of Kirsty McCall's version. But, as you say - different strokes!

I've also got Chantz's version, but I don't like it sung by a man, I'm afraid. It's just not right!
