Hi All,

The intermediate routine for tonight was

- Loopy tandem (woman's lead exit)
- Change places (woman's block, man's counter-block hammerlock)
- into backspin / travelling return
- First move walk
- Left handed hatchback (pull-through exit)

 :) Hi John  ;)

the only tricky bit was (I thought) the double block involved in the change place swing around slide your hand to lady's (upper??) arm and swing her around- wrong timing and you're goose is cooked!

thanks

Jo

Hi Jo

Yes, that was a real trickster.  It's part of the move where the man changes places, the woman thinks "Aha I'll do a block", but the man catches the hand and hammerlock/backspins the lady out again.

If the man spins around quickly enough and surely enough, then he can really catch the lady out by surprise (rightly so too, trying to take the lead - tsk tsk! They'll be wanting to wear trousers next!).

It is a move that the man has to practice to get right, as the timing is very aggressive for the man.

But hey - why just dance at a metronome pace when you can vary the speed of your movement to really do something snappy and unusual? :)  Just be glad Lou wasn't there or you'd have been slung from pillar to post by her trying to get her own back on those blasted pesky men for spoiling her fun!  ;D

Glad you enjoyed though.  Am hoping to do a theme class next week as we discussed.  Will post an advert for it once I've got a better idea of the moves I need!  It'll be a challenge though.

Regards

John.

Oi! Gimber! I heard that! Anyway - I was at the Yate class, enjoying lovely cool air-con and some particularly excellent music.  :-*

Besides, I don't mind being caught by surprise!  ;D Haven't I happily done the woman's block change places with man's retaliation with you before?  ;)
