Mr Wiggle recommends .........
« on: June 28, 2005, 11:13 AM »
It's gone quiet again - is it because of that strange yellow thing that keeps appearing in the sky?

New tracks for you to get down to (assuming that somebody plays them of course ...   >:( )

Available Now:
Charlotte Church - Crazy Chick
Röyksopp - Only This Moment
Deep Dish - Say Hello

Coming Soon:
Rachel Stevens - So Good
Goldfrapp - Ohh La La
Bananarama - Move in my direction (Honest  ;))

Not singles but worth finding:
Sean Costello - Goombay Rock (imported my copy of the album)
Caesars - Don't fear the reaper (From the Six Feet Under - Everything Ends Soundtrack album)
Madeleine Peyroux - Dance me to the end of love (yes it is the Leonard Cohen song)

Anyone else got anything to share?

Will have a dig around in the next couple of weeks.  I've got  a few new ones that I need to get off the PC and onto disc for the classes.

Banalrama - oh no! Unfortunately can vaguely rememember never smiling, weak sounding covers - there must be better 80's stuff? I suppose Charlotte has couple of good points. Not sure of others. If not some 70/80's rock how about a little Sisters of Mercy - Detonation Boulevarde (punchy drum beat and interesting lyrics) or if really energetic, Vision Thing - but not for the kid's tea party and preferably looking like just risen from one's coffin or perhaps something lighter 'like child again' from local lad Wayne Hussey, the Mission.

Move In My Direction is a new track due for release at the end of July. It's being played a lot on the radio & MTV clones on Sky. Very catchy, very MJ friendly

Not sure of others.

Have you heard them? All of the singles will not sound out of place at any MJ evening.

Caesars' version of Don't fear the reaper is fun - not too far from the original but without the guitar solo which would be out of place.
Goombay Rock is a laid back bluesy effort that's very catchy & has an interesting "caribbean" feel - perfect for summer
Dance me ... Nice blues track but not so slow that only Blues dancers need apply, somewhat Billie Holiday vocally

You and Lou should get together  :D

BTW... Vision Thing is just a leetle bit too fast for LeRoc.  ;)

I know it's not dark yet, Lou but I was listening to the track and doing Leroc with go faster stripes and thinking I still had 20 y.o. legs. BTW - was trying to think of some esoteric band then 'by the way' found 'brothehood/bretheren? of the third wheel' - wie dumm!

thanks, also Andrew - I'll look out for Bananarama. I also remembered 'The Goombay Dance Band' and some 70's track too nerdish to contemplate.

Was it Michael Jackson who tried that stunt? (in the days before his backing group - 'new kids on the'- say no more, a nudge is as good as a wink to a blind bat)

Two things worry me about Michael Jackson.

1. The song "I'm forever blowing bubbles"
2. The fact that he did a song for the film "Free Willy 2" called "Childhood".

Hmmm.

You can see the video for Banarama's new song from the link on this page:

Some very nice steps from the dancers  :)

I DON'T THINK IT'S SUITABLE FOR NON BROADBAND USERS
