It's gone quiet again - is it because of that strange yellow thing that keeps appearing in the sky?

New tracks for you to get down to (assuming that somebody plays them of course ...   >:( )

Available Now:
Charlotte Church - Crazy Chick
Röyksopp - Only This Moment
Deep Dish - Say Hello

Coming Soon:
Rachel Stevens - So Good
Goldfrapp - Ohh La La
Bananarama - Move in my direction (Honest  ;))

Not singles but worth finding:
Sean Costello - Goombay Rock (imported my copy of the album)
Caesars - Don't fear the reaper (From the Six Feet Under - Everything Ends Soundtrack album)
Madeleine Peyroux - Dance me to the end of love (yes it is the Leonard Cohen song)

Anyone else got anything to share?

OK, got quite a few of those and some other new stuff.  Will play tonight at the Folk House.  Some really nice stuff actually.

Well done John - Unfortunately we won't be at Clifton tonight as we're knackered having spent 5 hours with Gary & Sylv at a blues workshop yesterday.

I've emailed Jon to compliment him on his music choices on Friday - nice to hear someone play Montserrat (Bajofondo Tango Club).

This week's singles are disappointing  - Fatboy Slim's Don't let the man get man get you down is all i could get vaguely interested by

oldies i've been digging through

Husan - Bhangra Knights
Sympathique - Pink Martini

Just saw the best pop video for ages

Oasis - The Importance Of Being Idle. The video shot in black and white is set in the sixties & features Rhys Ifans as a funeral director! truely classy piece of work.

The single is due for release on 22 August but is available on the album "Don't Believe The Truth" so it's available on iTunes & Napster.

it's about 110 BPM so a little slow but i think it would be a cracking track to dance to - some interesting breaks.

(I honestly never thought I'd recommend an Oasis track)

Hre's a good one (I think)

Love in a TrashCan, by the Raveonettes

rather Retro, good beat, not much in the way of breaks, 140 bpm

Dance like it hurts, Love like you need the money, Work when people are watching

Saw it on MTv2 last week & Dl'd it on Monday from Napster- i think you're right but it's too hot to be arsed with trying out 140 bpm this week  ;)

My recommendations for this week:

Inaya Day - Nasty Girl
Xavier - Give Me The Night
British Whale - This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of US (or just dig out the Sparks version) - Turns out this is Justin Hawkins (from The Darkness)

This weeks resurections:

Shakira - Ojos Asi
St Etienne - Who Do You Think You Are?

Have downloaded some of these now

Goldfrapp - Oooh La La - excellent song! Like an early T Rex single. I look forward to dancing to this one!

Bananarama - Move in my direction - OK, though I suspect not a classic

Rachel Stevens - So Good - I found this one a bit of a misnomer

Charlotte church - very good - also look out for Call My Name, and Lets be Alone, from the same album

Also have a listen to "Dare" from Gorrilaz, which I think is a cracker
