Mr Wiggle - how's it looking on the ticket front?  I'm planning on coming over from south wales on Saturday and would hate to turn up and find you're sold out!

We've sold only a handful up front - everybody seems to be taking the attitude that they're happy to pay the extra pound as it's all for charity. As a result I really have no idea how many are going to turn up! The venue is licensed for 250 I believe but that would be uncomfortable to say the least.

Hi Martin,

yep I'm coming dancing - husband's away on a stag weekend in Bournemouth, so while the cat's away.... ^-^
 ;D

Unfortunately I don't tango - I've only done a little bit of ballroom tango which is totally different to argentine tango, though I'd love to be able to move my legs like the lady in the BBC clip - actually I'd be very happy if I had her legs, but riding a bike at nearly 30mph on the flat doesn't lend itself to dainty legs!!

Anyway - save a dance for me on Saturday!!

Well, it's here at last, so PLEASE come tonight. Lots of great music to play and don't forget that we're handing over the proceeds to a very important charity

Here's a statistic from the DEC:

£50 feeds a family of seven for more than two months.

so just ten people having a laugh & a dance in Clevedon tonight can make a real difference.

Well done Andrew for last night!  The music was wonderful - in fact sooooo good, I didn't want to sit down!  And as for the last track - 'Will you', by Hazel O'Connor - that piece of music is an all time favourite of mine!!  I actually saw Hazel O'Connor sing it live - the saxophonist played the extended version and brought the house down!!!!

Hope you made lots of money for the appeal.

Yes, well done Andrew, thanks for a really good evening, I hope you raised lots of money. Thankyou Elaine for a lovely dance.

And as for the last track - 'Will you', by Hazel O'Connor - that piece of music is an all time favourite of mine!!  I actually saw Hazel O'Connor sing it live - the saxophonist played the extended version and brought the house down!!!!

That is one of my favourite tracks too and it's right up there with Baker Street in the saxophone solos department. It must have been fantastic to hear it live. It was a good chance to try to improve my dancing to a slower track.

It was also great to get to dance so many tracks with Jennie (JT), just like the old days when we both first started dancing at the Folk House.

Thank you both for your kind words  :) and thank you to those who came and supported the event. If you enjoyed it PLEASE tell everyone  ;)

A quick counting of the loot at 1am showed a profit of £225 pounds so not at all bad.

I was a bit naughty not putting myself about for dances last night but quite frankly I was knackered having been dancing the two previous evenings and sorting the venue on Saturday PM

We're lined up to run another bash on Nov 5 (I know some are off to Strictly Come Dancing that night) so we'd love to see more of you next time. I can promise the same level of attention to the music as this time - infact i did learn a bit last night to put into practice later. The venue is a bit larger & has a sprung floor & is easier to find!!

Then it's on to Dec 17 when we're going to help CLIC with a Christmas fund raiser (that's the day after the cancelled Clifton Leroc do so I hope that we should get LOTS of people then - fingers crossed). This event is at the Scotch Horn in Nailsea - many of you already know that place

And what can you say about Will You - it just seems to be the perfect track to end a night with, simply the most melancholy tune i know (brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it :sniff: ). If anyone plays the track without the full sax solo then that's an even bigger crime than playing the club version of Havanna.

Really enjoyed the evening - nice venue, very fast dance floor (a good way to force me to keep my steps small!) with plenty of room - I'd make the trip again to dance there!

Thank you Martin for teaching me a few new moves - I'll try to remember them for next time!

Just to say thank you very much to every one who came along. We had a really lovely evening and it was great to see you all.

I found a couple of donations on my office desk yesterday morning from some people who couldn't be there and the total now stands at £240

 :)
