Oh Come on, Chaps, be fair.

Your asking the poor guy to take on a gigantic commitment in terms of time not least to say money in setting up and running a regular weekly class.

he's staying very quiet ...................................

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the silence.  Don't mean to be coy!  ;)  The fact is that I'm really into WCS because it allows me to partner dance to slower R&B music but wouldn't want to try teaching it to others until I'd progressed beyond the "novice" stage (which is where I'm firmly sat at the moment).  The best WCS teachers teach both the leader's and follower's steps, which is well beyond me (I'm too busy counting my own steps in my head!  ::)).  Certainly I hope that Sherif's workshop will become a regular event in Bristol and that more of us can pick it up and use it when we can.  Am happy to practice my small repertoire of WCS moves with anyone who is prepared to grab me!   :-*

I must confess, I wasn't thinking of you starting up your own class, just perhaps complimenting some existing arrangements!  I totally understand that you would not really want to teach it at the moment, although I think you are hiding your light under a bushel  ;)  (Where does that 'phrase come from - anyone know?  ;D).

A bushel being a sort of barrel. No point in putting your light underneath a barrel when you can put it on the top

Almost a barrel - here's what dictionary.com has to say upon the matter:

   1. Abbr. bsh. or bu.
         1. A unit of volume or capacity in the U.S. Customary System, used in dry measure and equal to 4 pecks, 2,150.42 cubic inches, or 35.24 liters.
         2. A unit of volume or capacity in the British Imperial System, used in dry and liquid measure and equal to 2,219.36 cubic inches or 36.37 liters. See table at measurement.
   2. A container with the capacity of a bushel.
   3. Informal. A large amount; a great deal: We have bushels of time, so relax.
The Bristol LeRoc / modern jive dance classes are diverse and provide a blend of teaching styles and music styles that are complimentary. If you want to keep them... go to your classes and support them! Check out the free dance, music and theatre clipart images in the new Clipart Library
