Bath Pavilion, Tues 14th

Also very busy, but the pavilion is a HUGE venue so even with 4 rows of beginners there was plenty of space. A good half of the ladies I spoke to were down from Swindon, presumably to help kick things off, so the big test will come in a couple of weeks when we see what the levels of local support are.

Good music, good dancing, easy venue to find, plenty of parking, big separate bar area. A basic set of moves last night, which is appropriate for an opening night.

HOWEVER - the floor is grim. It looks like lino over concrete. Many people were complaining of sore thighs/knees/lower back at the end of the night, some found it slippy, some found it sticky, depending (I think) on what soles you were wearing. Which is a pity because otherwise, as a venue, it has a lot going for it.

Went to Bath last night. Thanks to your warning about the floor, I decided to wear trainers. To be honest, I didn't find it that bad in Blochs (I didn't bother to change). Certainly nowhere near the awfulness of the floor at Thornbury. :shudder: I think it was quieter last night? On the plus side, it meant plenty of freestyle space in that lovely large room. Thank you, Nick, for just standing back & letting me play with Big Spender!  ;D A very generous dancer indeed!  ;)

My pleasure and thanks for a string of fab dances - Big Spender, Slow Boat to China, and something else which I cant recall just now.

A good selection of tunes last night.
